It's not every day you experience authentic, caring love. But when you step through the doors of First United Methodist Church of La Porte, you feel this place is different ... It's a place where people of all ages, races and backgrounds come together to strengthen their faith, grow in their love, and learn what it truly means to serve others in Jesus' name. It's a place where all are welcomed unconditionally. As you take a few moments to visit the pages on our site, you'll see people of all ages loving God through worship, loving others through service, and sharing the love of Jesus Christ with our community.

Maundy Thursday Service 7pm

Join us on this Holy Thursday to commemorate the passion, death and resurrection of Christ. Maundy Thursday (also known as Holy Thursday) is the Christian holy day, falling on the Thursday before Easter. It commemorates the Maundy and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles.
Service will be held April 2nd at 7pm in the Sanctuary.
Good Friday (Tenebrae Service)

The service of Tenebrae, meaning "darkness" or "shadows". Tenebrae is a prolonged meditation on Christ's suffering. Readings trace the story of Christ's passion, music portrays his emotions, and the power of silence and darkness suggests the drama of this momentous event. As lights are extinguished, we ponder the depth of Christ's suffering and death; we remember his sacrifice and depart in silence.

Service will be held April 3rd @ 7pm in Angel Hall.

The Friendship Class (8:45am) will begin 'The Easter Experience' by Kyle Idleman on March 1st. This is a 6 week class that brings the passion and resurrection of Jesus to life through storytelling and video.
All our welcome!
Wednesday's @ 5:30pm in
